With Ginka and Gluna ending the week after, I almost forgot about doing a write-up for this series…
Tokyo Demon Bride Story
(Nakama Tadaichi)
September 2022 to April 2023
29 Chapters
What I Liked
- The sisters were cool I guess
Where I Think Things Went Wrong
- For a harem manga, the art wasn’t really up to scratch
- Too many girls in too short a span on time. I never felt like I really got to know about any of them very well before they introduced a new one
- I also wouldn’t say any of the girls had winning personalities…
- Not enough explanation of Jinta’s background and their promise/meeting as kids
- Took too long for Jinta to get his weapon and actually be of some use
Conclusion
Lacklustre from start to finish. It didn’t annoy me like some other WSJ series, but it didn’t feel like it had anything going for it or any potential. I would have liked the sisters to be more involved, and for there to be some interesting backstory behind their individual families and how they became a family unit, ideally somehow related to demons (I can’t actually remember what term they use to refer to the magical beings in this series…that’s how little attention I paid to this…), and for them to also have powers/abilities of sorts. Oh well, WSJ still on the look out for a replacement to BokuBen 😶
