I bought this many years ago from a cross-stitch store that opened up in my suburb. I was so surprised because I didn’t think a pure cross-stitch store was a viable business in my area (spoiler: it was not).

I bought this when I visited the store in its opening week. I honestly bought it because I felt a bit bad walking in and then out without buying anything. Since, you know, it didn’t seem like they had much traffic. I bought this kit in particular because most of the other stuff in their store were very bad pokemon and other anime/game knock-offs (in hindsight…this pattern was probably also ripped off some poor soul’s drawing that had been uploaded to the internet at some point…)

I never returned to that store. At some point it closed, not sure if it even lasted a year. I did not have fun with this kit. The fabric was almost insufficient for the design and the thread was acrylic. At this point in time I’d only ever worked with DMC cotton, so it was very much a case of ‘gross, what is this stuff???’

This is turning into a very negative post, so I will say that what I did enjoy about this kit was posting updates to twitter after I completed each cat. My friends had fun watching the scene unfold 😁

Now that it is framed, it hangs in a place of honour…above the cistern of the toilet in our powder room 😝 something fun for guests to look at while they flush LOL
