Manga Plus: History’s Mentalist Chapters 1-20 Review

The title of this series makes me realise I don’t really know what a mentalist is meant to be.

I really liked this one. It had that realistic slice of life of a job-hunting 20-something year old with enough bizarre-ness with the historic figures to balance it out (so not feel too depressing…lol)

I always enjoy learning new things through manga and this one addressed a topic I haven’t yet had exposure to. In nice and snappy chapters. I liked how differently each of the historic figures reacted to modern times haha.

The supporting cast was also very varied and interesting and felt like they had real relationships with Sakutarou.

I’ll also admit I enjoyed the lectures about Covid courtesy. I sympathise with the author there!

I suppose this was a good length. It didn’t outstay its welcome. Sakutarou also had a satisfying and realistic conclusion to his job-search hunt. I would buy this digitally if it ever became available.
