Ooh a manga about music
Things I Like
- The lives the goze lead inspire respect
- The physical differences or the way the different goze’s physical impediments are depicted
- It’s a story about joining/building a community/family 😊
Things That Could Be Improved
- The plot developments with the father seem convenient
- Not sure how I feel about the magical aspect
- Hotaru is a bit of a stereotypical gungho MC atm
Verdict
The setting reminds me of Mushishi and I like how it doesn’t gloss over how hard it would be to live with blindness etc in such a world. The art (mixed with the time period vibes) reminds me more of Kajiki Chef though. I feel like I’m not reading many manga set in historical times (outside of Chinese imperial harems lol) so its nice to have this in my read list.
