Glad I stuck with this one.

I was a bit on the fence about this to begin with. Daisuke wasn’t likeable, neither was Kado, and the art was rough. But man did Daisike grow up. It was rewarding to see him work so hard, earn more respect from those around him and actually get results.
The death of Kado was quite shocking. Definitely not how I expected things to go. It changed the momentum of the series from a rivalry to more introspection. I liked how it delved into how multiple people, including Renjuro, viewed Kado and what he meant to different people.
It was nice seeing Daisuke keep up his friendships with his uni mates. And seeing him lecture director Yamasato.
So in conclusion, this series felt like a nice complete package.
