Manga UP: Victoria’s Electric Coffin Chapters 1-13 Review

Shorter than I was expecting

Weirdly I think I liked this more than I would have if chapters actually came out faster LOL. In hindsight, it wasn’t anything particularly special. But the relationship between Victoria and David/Eins was nice.

I think what kinda made it a bit lacklustre was Eins wasn’t even really that bad a guy in his former life. Just unfortunate and making some questionable choices. And despite Victoria’s goal to have him help people in his ‘second life’, they ended up having to go into hiding. I suppose even if he isn’t publicised as the Electric Coffin Eins can still help people. It was sweet that he tracked down all the graves of the people who helped him out in his first life.

The real surprise was that Henry was actually maybe a bit in love with Victoria? Obsessed might be the better word. His actions came across as jealousy of her achievements when it was actually more the case that he wanted Victoria’s attention. Also the priest/pastor guy being the most badass was pretty funny.

I’m not familiar with the language of flowers so had to look up purple tulips (supposedly perfect love and admiration?).

The art was nice, as expected from a Square Enix title. I got curious if the mangaka is currently doing any other series given this ended a fair while back. And sounds like they started a new one just this year. Hope it comes to Manga UP too 😊
