- I don’t think this series does anything particularly badly, I just think the entire concept is a bit flawed…
Verdict
Folly is a good choice of words. I couldn’t get behind the premise because Kuruzumi isn’t really that bad a guy. He’s just made a very bad decision that he’s going to spend the entire series digging downwards in the hole he’s started… He makes a bad anti-hero because he doesn’t really have conviction in his ‘bad deeds’ like say Light from Death Note. And while Kuruzumi is being deceptive and quite creative about the way he’s going about it, as the reader I never feel apprehension about him getting caught or feel like cheering him on in his cause. I just feel like it would be better for him to get caught early and have everything just be all over and done with 😅
