Honestly had low expectations for this one

Things I Like
- Wheat’s positive and caring attitude
- The sweets look good!
- The magical ingredients add another interesting element to the cooking aspect
- Delving into family politics/circumstances
- The building of relationships between the family and staff in all directions
- Exploring how breaks are important for creativity and progress
- Biwa is soooo cuuuute!
Things That Could Be Improved
- I would like to know more about Orange but I’m sure that will come eventually
Verdict
I think the word ‘sweet’ in the title made me link it to Sweetness and Lightning, which was ok (not really my kind of story). So my expectations were set pretty low. I think this manga does a lot of things well. Especially since it doesn’t solely focus on cooking (unlike Set It and Forget It). The family portrait also sets up anticipation for the appearance of each family member. The ingredients result in comedic situations. And there is the ongoing mystery about Orange (what’s her deal?) and maybe even the existence of (at least) two worlds? Very well designed story š
