The title didn’t give me any clue on what this series would be about.
Things I Like
- It makes me cry in a good way
- Nemo and Niike are both so sweet. And cute together
- The girls haunting Nemo are funny
- The way ghosts can relive eating experiences by watching humans
- Mystery about their parents and the God going after Niike/Niike losing her memories
Things That Could Be Improved
- We know a fair bit about Nemo’s family (well, at least the grandparents) but barely anything about Niike’s despite her being the main character.
Verdict
I only got hooked on the second chapter tbh. The first chapter felt pretty generic. But then it went and did some really interesting things, especially with Niike’s spirit sense. Totally would be interesting to reread the first couple of chapters to see if I could pick up when Niike is speaking to ghosts and if anyone around her realises. Maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised that Nemo and Niike knew each other from childhood, but the reason why Niike forgot is really interesting. And it’s not just the two of them that are really cute, the three main ghosts (I’m including the grandmother) interact with the two of them really well too.
