Mending – Zutomayo T-Shirt Label

Planning and Design

It’s interesting how my lil bro ended up liking Zutomayo independently of me. Genetics huh. He’s way more hardcore than me though and is part of the fanclub and buys lots of merch. He asked me if I could reattach the label on one of the band t-shirts. Figure it was the least I could do given I did video myself throwing out one of his t-shirts (it was seriously past its wearability state imo)

Ahhh, memories~

Materials

  • Fabric:
    • Zutomayo T-Shirt plus Label
  • Notions:
    • Very light interfacing

Construction

I figured since I’m doing this might as well do it properly 🙃 I borrowed a technique from my mum (she claims she doesn’t remember it, I assume that also means she doesn’t remember accidentally cutting a slit through the confirmation dress she sewed for me, which she patched up so well with interfacing I couldn’t even figure out where the cut was) which uses iron-on interfacing to stabilise separated threads.

Reflections

This turned out way better than expected. I also like how I kept the text at the botton of the label completely visible and positioned nicely on the inside. Apparently though, Zutomayo do this receipt thing for a lot of T-shirts so I might be getting more requests in future 😅
