- Delving into the different play styles/racket types/techniques
Things That Could Be Improved
- Pink hair girl too mysterious, main girl is too simple so need a more intriguing character as a hook
- Too cliche with the opponents. Yes yes first main character will beat the genius that doesn’t practice as a stepping stone to stronger opponents
- Do the rest of the table tennis club even matter
- Main character isn’t endearing at all
- I WILL WIN THROUGH SHEAR WILLPOWER isn’t really an ‘ability’ that can be powered up in an interesting way?
Verdict
I don’t feel like this series does anything new and the characters aren’t that engaging. With Mashiro’s backstory, I feel like Diamond Days tackles the loneliness and guilt of a naturally gifted player much better. Shame since I don’t feel like I’ve read a good table tennis sports manga yet.
