I had no idea what to expect from this one.
Things I Like
- Curious about the friend’s reason for dating Momiji since he didn’t seem to be into her
- Wow some relationships are just messed up huh, I wonder if mountain man’s marriage was always so twisted or it gradually became that way. I wonder if it’s commentary on the situation of some women (forced to be reliant on their spouses to survive)
Things That Could Be Improved
- Main character isn’t that likeable although I do feel like supporting him to get over his obsession with Momiji
Verdict
This series got more interesting as it went on but ultimately not enough for me to continue with it. It raised quite a few interesting questions and could have been interesting if it juxtaposed the main character’s relationship with Momiji (or even her relationship with her boyfriend) against the mountain man’s and the expectations of relationships, but since I’m not sure if that’s the direction it’s gonna go I won’t invest in it. Besides even if it does the topic is pretty depressing… Thinking about it, I may have gotten a lifetimes fill of messed up relationships through Scum’s Wish… 😅
