What I Liked
- The art is very polished
- Linalee (?) being unabashed about being greedy
Where I Think Things Went Wrong
- Kinato’s ability just isn’t really that interesting or cool?
- The characters are all really shallow
- There wasn’t really a storyline, Kinato’s motivation was pretty much ‘I want to leave the village and become an adventurer even though my ability isn’t battle-focused’
Conclusion
They tried to do some interesting things with the whole ‘massage reaction’ spreads, but I guess there’s only so many ways you can show people feeling good from a massage? I also didn’t really understand Kinato’s ability, it could do lots of different things but apparently couldn’t do anything directly battle based? Plus the other adventurer’s just had skills that didn’t follow any sort of structure, to the point where I don’t really remember what each character could do (or their names…). The all-woman village arc was also pretty painful to read. Basically this series was pretty generic. I think they need to team Amemiya up with a storywriter, because their art is nice and the character designs aren’t bad.
