I had to think long and hard about what this series was called…
This was a poor follow-up to Summertime Rendering in all honesty. There was too much jargon and neither Moka nor Hifumi held a candle to Ushio and Shinpei. Nevermind the supporting characters, I barely remember most of them except for Karin.
I felt like I could have casually enjoyed this series if it didn’t make the powers so complicated. I mean, I love Hunter x Hunter which has to have a novel every chapter to explain the nen abilities and I am all for that. But this series had all these extras ‘explaining’ the powers except all the important bits were censored out.
The cameos by Haine and ‘Ryuunosuke’ felt unnecessary as well.
So I’m honestly kinda glad this series is over. Because I know Tanaka-sensei can write well plotted engaging stories, this just didn’t feel like one of them, so hopefully the next one is better.
