What I Liked
- It got a lot more fun once they went out to the green
- It also was nice once Yaesaki and Oliver became friends
Where I Think Things Went Wrong
- Individual sports manga are probably a hard sell in general
- The intricacies of golf are probably not of interest to the magazine’s target demographic
- No real rival since everyone is so much better than Yaesaki
Conclusion
It grew on me, but I never exactly looked forward to chapters. The best part was Oliver’s parting shot to Yaesaki with the key to his American storehouse lol that was impressively troll of him. The worst part was Nadeshiko pushing herself to injury, that was not cool and shouldn’t be encouraged…
I was sad about a lack of sports manga in WSJ but honestly, I think Jump Plus has that adequately covered now.
