OMG I loved this series so much 😭

The title does kinda seem like a trashy light novel title but it’s really so so heart-warming and heartwrenching at the same time. A true familial bond formed out of a tragedy. It was such a journey and very rewarding to watch Shino and Nozomi grow closer and really become sisters. It’s a sad feeling that they were only able to become *that* close due to Taishi’s passing 😢 The comparison of Shino not even asking Nozomi for money for a school t-shirt to the two of them messaging each other every day… ❤️
The series did such a good job of exploring the different ways they were dealing with loss. They were both so lucky to have supportive friends and acquaintances. And it was interesting seeing what triggered each of them. Like Shino seeing Nozomi on patrol with a fellow (male) teacher at the festival and realising she’d never imagined any man other than her brother at Nozomi’s side and that she never wanted to see another man take Taishi’s place, even if that was a selfish thought.
The part that hit hardest for me was after Shino met Tachibana and realised part of her was waiting for Taishi to return and confronting that side of herself and finally coming to terms with the situation. I cried so much.
But the best part of the series was probably the feelings and intentions around the wedding ring. The way the two of them were trying to take each others’ feelings into account but missing the mark and hurting each other felt like it hurt me too 😅
I liked that they never really focused too much on Shino and Tachibana vs Shino and Shotaro. It would have detracted from the important relationship that was Shino and Nozomi.
And on the lighter side, Colonel is amazing 😍
I would totally buy this physical and reread it and cry all over again (Square Enix please please please release this one physically. Just Like Mona Lisa got an announcement after it ended so I live in hope). I adore this series. I don’t want to set my expectations too high (their art is already amazing and they definitely know how to write realistic and engaging relationships) but I’m looking forward to the artist’s next work.
