Manga UP: Blast of Tempest Chapters 1-44 Review

Was this seriously only 44 chapters?

I started this because it was by the author of Spiral which I have fond memories of (it was one of the first series I started buying tankobons for). To be honest, it started off fairly interesting despite the overload of jargon. The time shenanigans and the mind games Mahiro/Yoshino were playing against Salmon were a good read.

But after the Princess was freed, things kinda became a drag. I honestly couldn’t care less about her interest in Yoshino and while the new Mage of Exodus had decent character/confidence development, I also didn’t really care (to the point where I can’t remember his name…soz…). Even the mystery of who-killed-Aika wasn’t emgaging because there weren’t really any clues to help the reader try to hypothesise.

But in the end, it was worth slogging through the second part because the epilogue chapters were amazing 🤣 I liked them all but the best were about Salmon and Yamamoto-formerly-Fraulein LOL.

I couldn’t see if Kyo Shirodaira has anything currently being serialised but I would give their work another shot.
