It’s nice when Manga UP make it clear that a series is short and finished so I don’t do a redundant 10 chapter test LOL
I’m not really a Shoujo person but this was short and I was mostly caught up on the series I follow on Manga UP so gave it a go. It was a very ‘shallow’ shoujo story, as in only glancing on the surface of the usual shoujo tropes. Like the childhood friend who always liked Mio. And Asaka gradually falling for Mio despite finding her annoying to begin with. And Himari’s boyfriend’s (forgot his name) past with being suspended for coming to Himari’s rescue. So it not only felt like things resolved really quickly but it didn’t really feel all that engaging.
I wasn’t really against it being short and sweet, but the whole premise felt a bit weird? A guy asking out ‘Mio’ without realising it was ‘Himari’ was weird, like he didn’t know enough about Mio to know she had a twin. He only cared about her looks? That’s some damn poor due diligence dude… And is it a common thing for guys to get their henchmen to beat up a girl because she rejected him? Maybe I don’t read enough shoujo to be familiar with this kind of behaviour. The way they got him to back off by filming his bad behaviour felt like it went too easily, but the part where his cronies ditch him for being lame felt realistic at least.
To be honest my main takeaway from this series was how I was so distracted by Himari’s boyfriend looking like Yoshino from Blast of Tempest 🤣
