I didn’t think I would like this one because the blurb made it sound like a battle royale
Things I Like
- Sibling bonds 🥰
- The Hero’s familiar is kinda awesome
- How the Hero’s motives are pretty open to interpretation – is he just a womaniser? Is he a sadist? Is he trying to help his kids become family? Is he using his family as a proxy for social engineering society?
Things That Could Be Improved
- I’m really interested in the different races in this world, but I feel like given some of the siblings have already died we won’t learn much about their particular race/circumstances
- I’d love to know the thoughts of the mothers ahahaha….
Verdict
At first the main character seemed like he would be insufferable. But once he dropped his facade he actually became quite endearing haha. The main trio so far work really well together and I like how each encounter with a new sibling will have the ‘will they won’t they become allies’ question in the background. The world also sounds quite interesting, the Hero obviously was a big schemer so looking forward to discovering what else he’s machinated….
