What I Liked
- Asuka is cute and adorable
- The Demon Lord is dead-pan hilarious
- Sub-space was a good straightman
- The friend who just accepted everything was really entertaining too
- Asuka’s mum being stronger than the Demon Lord but not defeating him because it ‘wasn’t her job’ was hilarious too
Where I Think Things Went Wrong
- I feel like they messed up the introduction of Asuka’s ‘comrades’. They were all just dumped into the story at the same time so had no time to stand out. It would have been more interesting if they were introduced one by one, formed their own specific relationship/reaction to the Demon Lord, while hinting at the personalities of the ones yet to appear
- Maybe it was a bit too slice-of-life without being a romcom or a gag manga? And then I guess competing against Someone Hertz in the same kind of vibe.
Conclusion
I actually really liked this. I thought their interactions were fun and/or funny. Probably the correct level of slice-of-life for me.
