Ah, this author again.

Things I Like
- 90’s setting. Not quite nostalgic since I wasn’t a highschooler in the 90’s but still familiar enough
- The variety of love interests. I’m rooting for kouhai girl though
- Dropping some hints about the main characters mother
Things That Could Be Improved
- Art is still really wispy but that’s probably the author’s style so isn’t going to change
- Alice and childhood friend are a bit too stereotypical at the moment
Verdict
The author’s previous series was too passive for me so I dropped it at 10 chapters. This one has more going on, but it’s very much a slice of life kinda pacing which isn’t my kind of thing either. The ninth/tenth chapters had a bit of a bombshell with the way the main character rejected the guy who confessed to him, but luckily the main character expanded on his reaction such that it became clear that he wasn’t homophobic, he didn’t like the act of confessions in general. And I can understand his reasoning. But at the same time, it would have been probably pretty realistic for the times if he was homophobic…so I’m glad it didn’t end up being that. Anyway, main character doesn’t seem interested in any of the girls/guy and that’s probably the point, but I don’t think I want to be a spectator to wistful highschool romance.
